Physical Education at Abraham Lincoln Elementary should provide each student with:
1. A sequence of developmentally appropriate locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills in selected activities and sports.
2. An emphasis in fundamental skills and lifetime activities which will carry over to their future.
3. Opportunities to evaluate their fitness level, set goals, and identify ways to improve and monitor their progress.
4. The knowledge to develop lifelong understanding of good habits for overall health and fitness.
5. Activities that require leadership, sportsmanship, cooperation, decision-making, teamwork, and self-discipline.
6. An environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
Students are assessed daily on Assuming Responsibility for Learnings, Engaging in Health Related Physical Activity, Engaging in Safe Practices, and Being Respectful of Others. See Rubric below.
